This website is a gathering of traces from the Govan Graving Docks in Glasgow, Scotland. This evocation of the place pushes back against those more traditional representations in maps and charts that depict it as an empty void simply awaiting development. Instead this website shows the docks as a living place right now, in the present; full of voices, meanings and memories. Many of these recordings were made together with those who use the site to whom I am very grateful for the sharing of their knowledge, stories and sentiments. |
